  • The Israel Atomic Energy Commission Donates 10 Units of Personal Radiation Detectors and Search (PDS) to the International Atomic Energy Agency

The Israel Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) has pledged to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Department of Nuclear Safety and Security a substantial donation of equipment. The donation comprises of up to ten units of advanced Personal Radiation Detector and Search (PDS) which will be provided by the IAEA to a recipient country in need.

The PDS-100 GN model is the new generation of radiation detectors produced and manufactured by the Israeli company "ROTEM industries". The equipment was especially designed for first responders, law enforcement, customs inspectors and for personal and site security of critical infrastructure.

This IAEC donation to the IAEA reflects the strong Israeli support for the transnational efforts to address global challenges in the field of radiological terror and nuclear security. It attests to the importance and high priority Israel attaches to this significant domain in the global arena as indicated in the IAEC Director General recent address to the IAEA General Conference.
