On the 7th-8th November, the Ben-Gurion University (BGU) hosted a conference on Medical Physics in Israel - Present and Future. The conference focused on the various research aspects of medical physics in Israel by panel discussions between international experts in the field of medical physics: radiotherapy, dosimetry, X-ray diagnostics, etc. This conference is supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency, as part of an Israeli Technical Cooperation project, deals with upgrading the medical physics program in Ben-Gurion University.
The Israel Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) is the responsible governmental authority in charge of the cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The IAEC support and encourage Israeli institutions in initiating ideas for national, regional and international projects in the field of nuclear technology.
