Israel has been a member of the IAEA since the Agency was established in 1957.

The IAEC is responsible for the relations between Israel and the IAEA.

Israel is represented at the IAEA by an Ambassador. The current Ambassador is Mr. Israel Michaeli.

Israel takes part at the IAEA's annual meetings of the General Conference held in Vienna, Austria. The Israeli delegation is headed by the Director-General of the IAEC.

The research reactor at the SNRC operates under IAEA Safeguards. In addition, Israel is a party to several treaties in the nuclear field under the auspices of the IAEA.
